Holiday Events

Brain Buzz is a series of creative school holiday events for children who love to think differently, build, create, imagine and explore.

Hands-on activities including cardboard construction, puzzles, art, clay, games, storytelling. Children will be encouraged to follow their curiosity, express their ideas, and connect with other creative thinkers in a supportive and welcoming environment.

SESSION OUTLINES

TUES 29 September

Make, imagine and get to know each other.

Create a huge, collaborative Neurolinks poster and make playful books and collages inspired by the strenghths and interests of fellow buzzers.

Expect: art, making, storytelling and collaboration.

WED 30 SEPTEMBER

Dream it. Build it. Make it stand!

Design dream houses for others to build, then experiment with balancing sculptures using cardboard and construction materials.

Expect: building, problem-solving, experimenting, sharing and teamwork.

THURS 1 OCTOBER

Build something curious… then tell its story!

Use LEGO and construction materials to create curious buildings, creatures and worlds — then challenge others to guess “Who lives here?” Creations may also inspire stories and performance.

Expect: outside of the box thinking, mystery and curious questions.

TUES 6 OCTOBER

Create something that connects with someone else.

Make clay creations designed to connect with another person’s, then finish the day with favourite board games and plenty of play.

Expect: creativity, collaboration, strategy and fun.

WED 7 OCTOBER & THURSDAY 8 OCTOBER

Two days of music, imagination and creative exploration.

Together we’ll use music to inspire movement, costumes, construction and performance, with a special sharing for parents at the end of Thursday’s session..

Expect: music, making, movement and performance.
